Pawan Kumar to face camera for Chambal

The film, now in post production stage, will have music by Sam C of Vikram Vedha fame

Published: 11th October 2017

Chambal is the next from Jacob Verghese, who last directorial was Savari 2. The film, starring Sathish Ninasam and Sonu Gowda in the lead, is now in the post production stage. Another interesting bit of news is that the team is bringing down Tamil music director Sam C of Vikram Vedha fame, who will be making his Sandalwood debut with this project.

Meanwhile, Jacob’s surprise in Chambal will be Pawan Kumar. The director of films such as Lifeu Ishtene, Lucia and U-Turn, Pawan will be facing the camera this time and essaying an important role we hear.

Jacob confirms this but does not give away details about Pawan’s role in the film. “He has an important character to play in Chambal,” he says, adding that “more details will be given out once we are done with the movie’s post production.” Jacob’s directorial also has Roger Narayan playing a role with a negative shade.

Though titled Chambal, the film will not be set in the region, as Jacob had stated in earlier reports. Now we hear that the movie, co-produced by Jacob, is also seeing interest among filmmakers from other industries including Bollywood and they are looking for remake rights. But what will come of it is yet to be known.
