Director VK Prakash's next has been titled Praana. A thriller, the movie is a female-oriented subject, with Nithya Menen in the lead. According to the director, Praana tackles a socially-relevant subject.
"Praana revolves around a writer played by Nithya. It deals with an issue of contemporary relevance. Nithya's role is very performance-oriented and this will be one of her best roles so far. We have started the shoot in Kumily," says the director.
The film will be made in four languages, including Hindi, English, Telugu and Kannada. Praana boasts of a stellar crew, with PC Sreeram cranking the camera. Oscar-winning sound editor Resul Pookutty does the sound editing, while world-famous jazz musician Louis Banks will compose the tunes. The movie is scripted by Rajesh Jayaraman.
According to the director, Praana will be the first Indian film to use the scientific system of live sync sound in surround format. Reports have it that Resul has been given the freedom to capture all the ambient noise for the movie.
Prakash's last film was the thriller Careful. Nithya has earlier worked with the director on Poppins and Aidondla Aidu in Kannada.
