Kannada cinema’s beloved anna-thangi may return
Director Sai Prakash is readying a movie that will bring together Shivarajkumar and Radhika Kumaraswamy as brother and sister after 13 years, under the latter's banner
Shivarajkumar and Radhika Kumaraswamy were once the most loved brother-sister combo in Kannada cinema, and director Sai Prakash has shown them at their best in movies such as Thavarige Baa Thangi and Anna Thangi. Though there have been many attempts to bring the trio together again, none have been successful so far.
Now the good news is that, after 13 years, the three may work together again. What makes this venture more interesting is that this yet-to-be-titled project will be made under Radhika’s banner, Samiksha Production.
Sources say, “Radhika, who is currently acting in the Ravichandran directorial Rajendra Ponnappa and Kontract with Arjun Sarja, has been in talks to get this movie made under her banner and she has apparently got Sai Prakash on board. The director even has the subject line in place, and it will be about the affection between a brother and a sister, and it will have dance. The one-liner has been given the go ahead and the director is working on fleshing out the story.”
But Radhika wants to give an official confirmation about it once she gets an okay from Shivarajkumar himself. Our source says, “The movie will definitely take off. Radhika is only waiting for an answer from Shivarajkumar, who is in Bangkok shooting for The Villain. She wants to discuss the subject with the actor, and work out the dates. She will discuss the next production only after everything is finalised.”
