RGV, Nag reunite for a realistic actioner

The filmmaker and actor will be reuniting after over 25 years to collaborate on this project

Nagarjuna announced that he will join forces with maverick director Ram Gopal Varma after 27 years for a realistic actioner. “RGV pitched a wonderful storyline to me recently. I was surprised by the way he conceived my character. If everything falls into place, the film will go onto the sets soon,” said Nagarjuna during the promotions for his Friday release Raju Gari Gadhi 2.

The news has been acknowledged by RGV on his Facebook page. “I am extremely excited that I am doing a film with Nagarjuna after nearly 25 years, but contrary to some uninformed media speculations, this new film is nothing to with Shiva, neither in character nor in story content,” posted RGV. He added, “Its a very different, but an extremely realistic action film, with a story such as neither me nor Nagarjuna has ever done before.”

The Rangeela director pledged to recreate the magic of their earlier collaborations--Shiva and Govinda Govinda--which were declared as the path-breaking films in the Telugu cinema. “I just hope I will once again live up to his expectations which he had of me the first time he gave me a break,” says RGV.
