Shruti Haasan in Dhruva Sarja’s Poguru?
The film's makers have approached the actress and are hopeful of getting a green signal from her
Dhruva Sarja, who is now the toast of the Kannada industry after the stupendous success of Bharjari at the box office, will soon start work on his fourth project Poguru with director Nanda Kishore. Apparently, the director is very particular about getting the right cast in place before going on floors with this commercial entertainer.
This has led to widespread speculation about the movie’s heroine, and the latest buzz from Gandhinagar has it that the filmmakers have approached Shruti Haasan to play the female lead. Our sources say that Nanda Kishore, who is currently doing the movie’s pre-production work, has been keen on bringing the actress to Kannada cinema and has even had had a few rounds of discussions with her.
Reportedly, Shruti liked the project and has even given the go-ahead. Our source says, “If all the financial settlements are finalised and okayed, Shruti will sign on the dotted line.”
Kamal Haasan, Shruti's father, who has worked in South Indian and Bollywood industries, has had his stint in Kannada industry too. The audience and the industry is keenly watching how daughter Shruti will fare in Sandalwood.
A few Kannada filmmakers have tried to bring the actress to this industry before, but have not been successful. We have to wait and see if Nanda Kishore will work his magic with Shruthi and bring her to Kannada.
The film with Dhruva is being produced by Gangadhar, and it will have music by Arjun Janya and cinematography by Vaidy.
