It won't be Padman vs 2.0

It was speculated that Rajinikanth's 2.0 and Akshay Kumar's Padman may clash at the box-office. However, now, Akshay has clarified that, "it will be either 2.0 or Padman on the Republic Day weekend next year." During a recent media interaction, he also asked, "Why would I clash with my own film?"

While Padman is produced by his wife Twinkle Khanna, 2.0 is produced by Lyca. "I am definitely having a release on January 26, but depends on when 2.0 is releasing. If they release the film that day, I will postpone Padman. If they don't, I'll go ahead," he added. 

2.0 was supposed to release for Diwali this year, but was pushed to January 2018 because of some pending special effects work.
