Rohit Shetty's return to reality show

Published: 11th May 2017

Rohit Shetty recently launched the eighth season of reality game show Khatron Ke Khiladi. The Golmaal director, believes that Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Suneil Shetty are the real ‘khatron ke khiladis’ of Bollywood.

“I’ve been working with them since I was an assistant director. Back then, there were no special effects, cables and CGs (computer graphics). These actors used to perform real action sequences in their films, and without the help of body doubles.” The filmmaker, who made a dashing entry to the tunes of Singham at the launch of the reality show, finds similar appeal in the show: “All things are live on this show; there are no special effects or computer graphics. After a gap of two years, it felt like I was coming home. We are shooting this season in Spain which is interesting.”

He went on to add, “For me, it’s not just a show. It’s an emotion. We are working on a new format of the show. I feel this will be the best season of Khatron Ke Khiladi, as this time around, we have a terrific lineup in terms of the contestants. This season, the audience and the contestants will experience some really thrilling and new stunts which haven’t been shown on television before.”

Khatron Ke Khiladi, with a theme of ‘Pain in Spain’, will see the participation of many celebrity contestants including Geeta Phogat, Hina Khan, Lopamudra Raut, Ravi Dubey, Karan Wahi, Rithvik Dhanjani, Nia Sharma, Shiny Doshi, Shantanu Maheshwari and Bigg Boss fame Manveer Gurjar.
