The first look of the Bollywood movie, The Accidental Prime Minister, was unveiled yesterday. The film, based on the novel by Sanjaya Baru’s book, The Accidental Prime Minister: The Making And Unmaking of Manmohan Singh, is produced by Sunil Bohra under his home banner, Bohra Bros.

Directed by Vijay Ratnakar Gutte, the film has screenplay by National Award-winning filmmaker Hansal Mehta, and stars Anupam Kher in the titular role of Manmohan Singh, with the rest of the cast yet to be finalised. The story reportedly is about the inside workings of the Manmohan Singh administration.

The first look features Anupam Kher wearing a turban and looking every bit like the former Prime Minister. Also seen in the background is the silhouette of a lady in a sari which ostensibly represents Sonia Gandhi. Tweeting about the role in the movie, Anupam Kher stated: “Looking forward to portraying Dr. Manmohan Singh in The Accidental Prime Minister." The 62-year-old actor whose latest outing was Naam Shabana, is also awaiting the release of the Akshay Kumar starrer Toilet - Ek Prem Katha.
