Varun Dhawan to return for Badlapur sequel
The actor will be seen in the followup to the hit first film
It was earlier reported that Badlapur 2 might have a change of protagonist with Deepika Padukone set to replace Varun Dhawan. Deepika had reportedly loved the concept after the producer of the film, Dinesh Vijan, had a meeting with her. But it is now being said that the script didn't quite meet her expectations.
A source says, "Varun will now be a part of the sequel to Badlapur. The film will be directed by Sriram Raghavan again.”
The actor is also in talks with Sriram for his next film. “Though the actor enjoys his commercial successes like Badrinath Ki Dulhania, he loves to do dark, edgy films and is joyed to be a part of Badlapur 2 again.”
The sequel will be based in Badlapur but will have a completely different story. It is also hinted that the makers might repeat Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Huma Qureshi from the original but it has been confirmed that Yami Gautam will not be a part of the film.
After filming his next alongside Ayushmann Khurrrana and Tabu, Sriram is expected to start work on Badlapur 2 early next year.
