The hush hush love affair between Rakshit Shetty and Rashmika Mandanna now stands confirmed with the actor announcing his engagement with the actress girlfriend on July 3.

It all started when Rashmika who took to social media to post a birthday wish for Rakshit on June 6, which read: “Happiest birthday to one of the most humblest human beings I’ve ever met... people love you even without you trying... and my parents are a few of those people.. welcome to the small family ours”.

While Rakshit had a special birthday, he also spent the entire day confirming the news. He told City Express, “After the media reports, our families came together and gave their consent. Now we can talk about it. I am now happy to announce our engagement,” he says.

Ask Raskhit, why wait for two years to get married and he responds, “At this point in my career, it is important for me to wait. I have a huge commitment to meet in terms of work. Same is the case with marriage”.

Rakshit feels he might not be able to give the kind of time a wife requires, but will match up to a girlfriend’s expectation in terms of spending their time together. “It is easier to maintain a girlfriend than a wife. I have taken this two years time to keep a balance between my professional and personal life.”

While Rashmika is busy with a handful of projects including Anjaniputra, Chamak and her Telugu film, Rakshit is gearing up to start work on Avane Sriman Narayana, the directorial debut of Sachin.
