Beyond The Clouds now a trilingual

Published: 07th June 2017

Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi’s film, Beyond The Clouds, will now be made into a trilingual. Featuring actor Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khatter and Malavika Mohanan in lead roles, the film by Majid Majidi will now be made in three languages—Hindi, Tamil and English—thanks to the demands of the script, read an official statement from the makers.

Each language is expected to form a major part of the film. The statement indicates that it won’t just be a couple of dialogues from each language being incorporated. “We will have proper narratives that go with the various languages,” a spokesperson said.

Produced by Zee Studios and Eyecandy Films, the film is about a brother-sister relationship.

“Majidi is known across the world for his realistic style of filmmaking that puts a lot of emphasis on the authenticity of the setting. Given that the film and the three languages are thematically interwoven, he has included actors from those regions. He wanted them to speak in their own language in their most natural form,” the spokesperson added.

Oscar-winner Majidi, known for masterpieces like Children of Heaven and The Color of Paradise, will mark his Indian debut with Beyond The Clouds.
