Pokhran nuclear test gets a film
The film is based on the Pokhran nuclear test that happened back in 1998.
Work on John Abraham’s next, Parmanu – The Story Of Pokhran, began in earnest yesterday. The action star took to Twitter to say, “Day 1. Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran. Our biggest test ever.” Talking about the film, he says, “The road to Pokhran has been paved. It’s time to embark on a journey to revisit the mission that changed the place of India on the world map and solidified modern India’s position in the world as a strong nuclear state.” The film is based on the Pokhran nuclear test that happened back in 1998. It was a mission as part of which the Indian army, scientists, engineers and satellite experts came together to pull off a covert mission that sent ripples across the world. Parmanu – The story of Pokhran stars John Abraham and Diana Penty in the lead, with Boman Irani playing a pivotal role. The film is being directed by Abhishek Sharma, who has also written the film along with Saiwyn Quadros and Sanyuktha Chawla Shaikh, who have previously written Neerja. The film, jointly produced by Kriarj Entertainment, JA Entertainment, Kyta Productions and Zee Studios, has music by Sachin Jigar, and is slated for release on December 8.
