Rishi Kapoor blames Anurag Basu for Jagga Jasoos' failure

Ranbir Kapoor’s father holds director Anurag responsible for the film’s fate.

Ever since Jagga Jasoos release, there were speculations that Rishi Kapoor is not happy with Anurag Basu and all is not well between Ranbir Kapoor and the director. Ranbir not only features in the film along with Katrina Kaif, but also made his debut as a producer with this one.

Rishi lashed out at Anurag in his interaction with a daily and said, “He (Anurag) is such an irresponsible director that he doesn’t complete the film. It was supposed to release three times in the past two years, but it kept getting delayed.”

The actor thinks that the delay was caused by the director as he continued reshooting and editing it. “Honestly, Neetu and I saw the film on Thursday, only a day ahead of the release. Till Wednesday, Anurag Basu was still mixing the film. Can you imagine that? Pritam probably delivered the music only a week before. Today’s filmmakers are doing this with everybody. They don’t show their films before release to take opinions, and treat it as though they’re making a nuclear bomb,”

Talking about how Ranbir has spent a huge amount of money and how Anurag has spoiled his relation with Govinda he says,”Ranbir hasn’t held back on spending money on it. You even threw Govinda out of the film. If you don’t want Govinda to work in your film, why did you ask him in the first place? I totally agree with Ekta (Kapoor) when she threw him out from her film. He also had problems with Rakesh Roshan while working on Kites (2010).”
