A film on drug abuse

Nayanthara’s upcoming Telugu release Vasuki is all about drugs. The film directed by AK Sajan is a remake of the Malayalam hit Puthiya Niyamam and shows the harsh realities of the youth who are engulfed in substance abuse. The film is currently in dubbing stages and the post-production formalities are in full swing.

“At a time when the Telugu film industry is rocked by drug mafia, Vasuki explores the heinous crimes fueled by the consumption of substances like cocaine and LSD by the youth. The film has a strong storyline and the elaborate epilogue makes it an interesting watch,” reveals a source.

Produced by SR Mohan under Sriram Cinema banner, the film, also starring Mammootty in a pivotal role, is slated to hit the screens in August.
