Madhan is paired with Upashna Rai in the intriguingly titled 88 produced by A Jayakumar for JK Movie Makers. The supporting cast consists of impressive names like Daniel Balaji, Jayaprakash, Appukutty, Charms and John Vijay.

Director M Madhan, who has also handled the story, screenplay and dialogue, says that the plot centres on the improper use of cell phones. "There is a message for women to be more guarded when using their mobile phones," says the filmmaker, who feels that the device is best used for communication alone. "Not only do youngsters waste precious time fiddling with their phones, there have even been instances where promising careers had come crashing down due to this modern day addiction," he adds.

Madan says the audience are in for a visual treat as well with his film, which was extensively shot in Chennai, Andhra and Ooty. 88 is scheduled for release on July 21.
