Filmmaker Indrajit Lankesh who is mostly known to Sandalwood as the 'Stylish Director' will be joining politics soon. His movie career started with Thuntata in 2002. His last film, Luv U Alia starring Ravichandran and Bhumika Chawla, released in 2016.

The actor-director-producer hinted about his move into politics at a recent function, held on Saturday and he is to join BJP.

An official announcement about this is to be made soon, and Indrajit says that he will contine with filmmaking as that’s where his passion lies. “After 25 years of journalsim and being in the film industry, I have earned a lot of love and affection from people,” says Indrajit, adding, “This (politics) is a another place, I want to know if I can fit in. As of now, I am just known to be aligned to BJP’s ideology. Of course Yedurappa and Narendra Modi’s leadership has inspired me to join politics. It is just a thought now, and it is too early to give any kind of confirmation. But films will go on, and I will be announcing my next project details very shortly.”
