Pranav Mohanlal’s debut Malayalam flick as a hero, directed by Jeethu Joseph, has been titled Aadhi. This was revealed at the launch function held at Vivanta by Taj in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday.

The pooja for Pranav’s debut movie was held along with that of Mohanlal’s big budget movie Odiyan, directorial debut of  VA Shrikumar Menon. Both  films are being produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. With the tagline ‘Some lies can be deadly’, Aadhi will see the legendary actor’s son essay the character of a parkour expert, according to Mohanlal. Satheesh Kurup will wield the camera for the flick while Anil Johnson will be the music director. The film is expected to start rolling soon.

“The film will be a family action thriller,” said director Jeethu. “This will be the ninth film that I will be directing. But there is more pressure and tension than any of the first eight films because I am doing the movie with someone that the whole of  Kerala has been eagerly waiting to see on the silver screen,” Jeethu said.

Actor Mukesh, who will essay the role of Pranav’s father in the movie, was  present during the function. The female lead and rest of the star cast of  the movie are yet to be announced.

The motion poster of the movie was also released during the function.

The 26-year-old actor made his debut as a child artist through Onnaman in 2002. He also won the Kerala State Film Award for the best child artist for his portrayal of Appu in the film Punarjani the same year. Pranav was an assistant director with Jeethu in Kamal Hassan starrer Papanasam, the Tamil remake of Mohanlal film Drishyam, and Dileep-starrer Life of Josutty.

Meanwhile, Odiyan which is a fantasy drama will see Manju Warrier and Prakash Raj in prominent roles along with Mohanlal. The motion poster of the film was revealed by Mohanlal on his Facebook page the other day and has been a hit among his fans since.
