2017 is ending on a high note for actor Sriimurali, with Mufti, also featuring Shivarajkumar, getting released last weekend and emerging a blockbuster hit.

According to producer Jayanna, Mufti’s box office collection as on Tuesday is said have crossed Rs 15 crore in 250 theatres and is expected to break the records of previous hit films in Kannada.

Going by the reception Mufti is receiving, Sriimurali now has a sequel in mind. The actor adds that the film won’t go on floors immediately, but he will pursue it once he is done with his prior commitments. “The film falls in a genre people love to watch and they have given a thumbs up for the first one. They have made it a hit and we have to give them more,” he says.

Mufti, which marked the directorial debut of Narthan, has an ensemble cast including Vasishta Simha and Shanvi Srivastava. The film has music by Ravi Basrur and cinematography by Naveen Kumar.
