Veteran actor Senthil, who's making a comeback to Tamil cinema with Suriya's Thaana Serndha Koottam, will next be seen in Metro fame Shirish's Pistha. Shirish took to Twitter to share a photo with the comedian.

Talking to CE about the latest inclusion to the cast, Shirish says, "The team already has an ensemble cast of comedians that includes Sathish, Yogi Babu, Namo Narayanan and Sendrayan. There was an important role for which the makers were planning to rope in Shanmugasundaram sir. Due to his unfortunate death, we needed a replacement and hence approached Senthil sir." The veteran comedian liked the story which was narrated to him and came on board.

Shirish also says they're having a whale of a time on the sets. "He has been making fun of everyone on the sets. He's also always giving 'counters' to Sathish and others," he adds. The team is currently in Chennai and will head to Kumbakonam for the final schedule on September 5. They're expected to wrap up the shoot by September 20, unless the rains play spoilsport. While Mrudula Murali of Ayal Njanalla fame plays Shirish’s love interest, Arundhati Nair is also on board for Pistha. The film will be music director Dharan Kumar's 25th film.
