Venky, Rana not part of Vikram Vedha remake?

Actors Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathy’s latest release Vikram Vedha has taken the box office by storm and was adjudged as one of the biggest hits of this year in Kollywood. Set in the police-gangster backdrop, the Pushkar-Gayatri directorial is loosely inspired by the popular folklore characters Vikram and Betaal.

There were reports about a popular Tollywood producer acquiring the remake rights and planning to cast actors Venkatesh and Rana Daggubati in the lead. Reacting to those speculations, Venkatesh told CE that he has not committed to any project yet. “I haven’t signed any new film yet and none of my future projects is confirmed,” said the Guru actor. A source close to Rana Daggubati added, “Rana is currently busy with the promotions of his upcoming political-thriller Nene Raju Nene Mantri. As for his new projects, a few interesting things are happening and it’s too early to comment on them. But he is so far not part of any remake in any language.”
