Karan Johar wants Jhanvi Kapoor in Shuddhi

Shuddhi, Karan Johar's much talked about project, was announced a few years back. The film has been in news for its casting issues. However, recently, the director Karan Malhotra has confirmed that he is still making the film, and that it is not an adaption of The Immortals of Mehula as was reported earlier. The latest buzz says that Karan Johar is in favour of casting Sridevi’s daughter Jhanvi Kapoor in the film. A source says, “This script is very close to Karan, though he stopped talking about it as the project could not start. But it is going to be revived soon, and he is willing to cast newcomers in it. He is yet to start work on it, however, and so there has not been any official statement from him so far.”

For the longest time, there were rumours that the film was shelved and that it was jinxed due to its changing cast. Earlier Salman Khan had agreed to do it, but he opted out of it. Later Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt came on board, but the film never went on the floor. There were also rumours that Hrithik Roshan and Kareena Kapoor Khan might feature in it before Varun and Alia were finalised.
