Farhan wants to play Kapil Dev

In the past, Farhan Akhtar had expressed his desire to make biopics on some of the legends of cricket, though he recently denied the rumours that he is making one on Bishan Singh Bedi. However, reports suggest that the actor is keen to make one on Kapil Dev. A source says, “Farhan has expressed his desire in the past to make one more biopic. In fact he likes Kapil and is a fan of the cricketer. He also wants to play him on screen, even though some of his friends think his features do not match Kapil's. But whether Farhan will actually go ahead with this idea or not is yet to be confirmed.”

Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan was earlier supposed to make a film on India’s World Cup victory in 1983. He had written a script, but he could not direct it, as he was said to be busy with his next film Chanda Mama Door Ke. Later, it was reported that Kabir Khan would direct the film, which Phantom films would produce. Kabir recently confessed that he is fascinated with the story of the '83 Cricket World Cup, but did not reveal further details. It was said that Arjun Kapoor was going to play Kapil Dev in the film, but no official announcement on the casting has been made as of now.
