Jenson Alapatt, who played a supporting character in the film Queen, will next appear in Sakala Kalashala which stars Maniyan Pillai Raju's son Niranjan in the lead role. Vinod Guruvayoor is the director. The script is penned by Badai Bungalow-writers Jayaraj Century and Murali Guinness from a story by Vinod Guruvayoor. Shaji Moothedan is the producer. Tini Tom, Shammi Thilakan, Dharmajan, Hareesh Kanaran, and Jacob Gregory co-star.

"It is a humorous college campus story in which Niranjan plays a student whose invention is misused by somebody. I play Niranjan's friend who is a comical character," says Jenson.

The film's release date has been pushed from November 30 to January 11 owing to the release of Rajinikanth's 2.0 and Mohanlal's Odiyan.

The Thrissur-based actor, who used to be very active in theatre, says he owes everything to his family and that it's his passion for acting and faith in his own abilities that kept him going all these years.

"After I finished my degree, I worked for two years and then quit my job. I've been pursuing a serious acting career for around a decade. I couldn't find any opportunities in my hometown. All the auditions usually happen in other cities. I've attended thousands of auditions, even in Chennai. Queen gave me my big break," adds the actor whose mother passed away before the film's release. "The fact that she wasn't around to see my debut still pains me."

According to Jenson, many people still don't know his actual name. "They still call me Madapravu (his character name in Queen)."

He is currently filming Ambarees, a thriller, and also has a couple of Tamil films coming up.
