It's important to rise above looks: Sonakshi Sinha

Sonakshi Sinha, who has often been body shamed, says it is important for the audience to rise above looks and delve deeper into an artist's work.

The actor believes that one's work speaks for itself. "We should tell the audience to concentrate on the actor's work, not on his/her looks, and I have been advocating this since the early days of my career," she says.

"I have always been projecting a very strong body image. Though I have been body shamed a lot,  I always chose to move ahead. It's not how you look, but what you do and how many people you reach out to, that matters," she adds.

Asked whether questions about her weight loss annoy her, she says, "I have been answering questions about my weight loss for so long that I have become indifferent to them. There are certain things that seem odd at the moment, but I am kind of used to it. And it's okay, it's part of my profession."

Sonakshi will next be seen in films like Happy Phirr Bhaag Jaayegi, Kalank and Dabangg 3
