Tanya Hope bags Darshan’s 51st film

Tanya Hope bags Darshan’s 51st film

With its makers still on the lookout for an apt title, Darshan’s 51st film, directed by Pon Kumar, will start rolling from mid February. As reported earlier, the film, being produced by Shyalaja Nag and B Suresha, will feature two heroines. Rashmika Mandanna is already on board, but the production house has kept the identity of the other heroine, who will be sharing screen space with Darshan, a secret.

However, rumour mills are now suggesting that Tanya Hope will be playing the second female lead. An official announcement is expected to be made once they go on floors with the project. This Mangaluru beauty, a Miss India Pageant contestant in 2015, recently grabbed headlines for her Kannada debut in Upendra’s Home Minister.

Tanya will apparently be joining the sets of this yet-to-be-titled film along with the other actors. A film with Darshan will definitely be a big break for the actor, who is also venturing into the Telugu and Tamil industries. Tanya has finished shooting for Telugu film Paper Boy, while her Tamil debut -- Arun Vijay’s film titled Thadam -- is in the last leg of shooting. She is also part of Sunil Kumar Desai’s film Udgharsha, though the shooting for it has been put on hold.

"The film team who got Rashmika Mandanna on board have been scouting for another heroine, and Tanya has managed to impress them with her looks and talent. She was considered after rounds of auditions, when the makers felt she would fit the bill," says a source.

The film has music by V Harikrishna, and cinematography by Shreesha Kuduvalli.
