Bhairava Geetha happened unexpectedly: Dhananjay
The actor, who is excited about his upcoming releases this week, says he believed in Ram Gopal Varma, the story and director Siddhartha
Dhananjay is an actor who has tested the waters with every film. But at no point, the actor says, has he felt any sort of pressure. “When you know you have worked hard for a project, everything else takes a back seat. Moreover, people have recognised and appreciated me as an actor. That's the kind of validation I seek from the audience,” he adds.
The actor, who rose to fame through his character Daali in Tagaru, hopes to create the same sensation with his next, Bhairava Geetha. The bilingual film—made in Kannada and Telugu—is directed by Siddhartha Thatholu. It also marks Dhananjay's debut in Tollywood. “Getting to work in a new language, gives an actor new ideas and a chance to work with a new team. There is a lot of learning involved in it. But, Bhairava Geetha has turned out to be a big launch for me in Telugu, and one more amazing film in Kannada. The shooting ambience, the way director Siddhartha carried out his vision, everything about this film was amazing,” he says.
The ten-film-old actor is now hoping that Bhairava Geetha will be another feather in his cap. Despite the slight delay, Dhananjay is confident that it will succeed. “Bhairava Geetha is something that happened unexpectedly. Who knew that a director of Ram Gopal Varma's calibre would watch Tagaru and offer me a film? I hadn't even met RGV before that.”
Dhananjay, who will be seen playing a coolie in Bhairava Geetha, clarifies it's a film based on the fight between two classes of people. “Though the film has been tagged a violent love story, the undercurrent is a fight between the feudal and labour classes. And it has been very realistically presented." He signs off saying that he has full belief on the story, director Siddhartha and RGV, who first spotted his talent.
