I had to learn to be a Delhi Girl

Shraddha Kapoor, who is playing a sophisticated Delhi girl in her forthcoming Half Girlfriend, says she is very tomboyish in real life and that simple things in life make her happy. She was talking on the occasion of the re-launch of Chetan Bhagat's book with a new cover featuring Arjun Kapoor and herself.

Asked about the similarity between her and Riya, the character she plays in the film, Shraddha said, "I think like her. I too feel happy about the simple things in life. On the other hand, I am also quite tomboyish which is quite different from who Riya is. In fact, that is why I had to learn the body language and style of a Delhi girl from high society."

Director Mohit Suri, who was also at the event, thanked listeners for the reception to the songs of the film, and said, "I think the credit goes to the good story, written by Chetan. If I do not have an emotional story, I cannot intensify that with music. So the story plays an important role." When asked what made him collaborate with Mohit for the film, Chetan Bhagat said, "He has a great understanding of emotion and that was needed for this story. I had an eye on Mohit's work, his music and how beautifully he weaves it into his films. He was my only choice."

Produced by Ekta Kapoor, the film is releasing on May 19.
