Won't let industry treat me like an option

Pradeep's journey with Tiger was not an easy one. Looking for an image makeover, the actor took the risk of waiting for around three years for his film to release. During this time, he did not commit to any project.
The actor today cannot contain his excitement, talking about his movie that releases this week.

In conversation with Cinema Express, the actor says, "Creativity takes time, usually more time than we expect. I did put my career at stake for Tiger. But if I hadn't taken this risk, my career wouldn't have gone anywhere, except for the fact that I would have bagged two more projects."

Pradeep is pretty clear about what his career should look like and he definitely doesn't want to be treated as another option in the industry. "Though acting is a means to earn a living for me, I didn’t want to ruin my future by only thinking of today. This was a planned move," the actor adds.

The movie, too, has its own interesting story of how it got made. It defies the common practice of the director who goes looking for actors depending on the script.

The script of Tiger was specially crafted for Pradeep by Tarun Sudhir, who has written the story and screenplay. The film is directed by his brother Nanda Kishore. "If you ask me, this is the practice every actor will look forward to," says Pradeep.

He adds that a director who is creating a story for him, will know the strength and weakness of his personality and will weave the story accordingly. "When a script is written specially for me, my enthusiasm too doubles. This helps me perform better on screen," he says.

Made under Inchara Film Factory and distributed by Jack Manju, Tiger features Nyra Banerjee, the late Om Puri, politician and actor Shivaram, and Chikkanna. The film has music by Arjun Janya and Sudhakar Raj as its cinematographer.
