Catherine Tresa is kicked about her upcoming release Gautham Nanda, in which she will be seen in her most glamorous avatar yet. Teaming up with Gopichand for the first time, she says the film’s universal story will appeal to everybody. In a chat with CE, she says, “It’s one of those stories that will appeal to audiences across languages. It’s packed with a relevant message which I believe will instantly strike a chord with the viewers.”

In the film, directed by Sampath Nandi, she plays a character called Mugdha who comes from a well-off family. “I haven’t looked so glamorous in my career. There’s a nice energy about the character which makes it different from the ones I have essayed so far,” says Catherine, while heaping praise on Gopichand’s makeover in the film. “I was awestruck by him. Audiences will see a very different Gopichand this time. He plays a edgy character and it was a treat to work with him.” Recalling the experience of sharing screen space with Gopichand, she says, “He has great sense of humour. We’d end up laughing even in the most unexpected moments. He’s also an amazing driver and I realised this when we had to shoot a driving sequence.”

Slated for release on July 28, a large portion of the film was shot in Thailand and Abu Dhabi among other places. Catherine credits the strong technical team for the overall output of the film. “We had great fun shooting abroad. If not for the great team, we couldn’t have pulled it off. Special thanks to my DOP Soundar Rajan, who has an eye for detail. Every frame of his looks out of the world.”
