Shahid Kapoor confirms his next with Imtiaz Ali

Currently awaiting the release of the controversial Padmavati, Shahid Kapoor says that he is uniting again with his Jab We Met director Imtiaz Ali for a “very different film”.

“We are doing something together soon and I am really excited about it. I think Imtiaz is a phenomenally talented filmmaker,” says the actor, who will be working with Imtiaz after almost ten years.

“We made a film together towards the beginning of my career and the absolute beginning of his. It’s something that people still talk about. Jab We Met has been a special film in my career and to work with the guy who gave me the role of Aditya Kashyap is going to be amazing,” he says, adding that the subject that the filmmaker now has is very different from what they have done in the past. “It’s very interesting. I am going to do his film next, right after Batti Gul Meter Chalu.”

Batti Gul Meter Chalu is being directed by Shree Narayan Singh. Talking about the heroine for the film, Shahid says, “As of now, no one has been finalised yet. We will let everyone know very soon who will play the female lead. We are going to start shooting in February.”
