Naga Chaitanya: Akhil made for lover boy’s role

Naga Chaitanya, who exchanged wedding vows with his fellow actor Samantha, says he enjoys being married. “It’s a fantastic feeling to get hitched. My married life is awesome and I’m enjoying every bit of it,” says the actor.

A fashion icon in his own right, the 31-year-old actor talks about his style funda and says he likes to keep it simple with minimalist fashion. “I like to wear whatever that makes me feel good and comfortable. It actually reflects your mood.”

His father Nagarjuna was revered for his unique fashion sense both on and off the screen. From seamlessly sporting a traditional panche kattu to being dressed in Indo-Western outfits, Nag added his own quirk to some creations. Was it difficult for Chay to match up with his father? He explains, “It’s tough to measure up to my dad. He earned a name for himself as the style icon and has always been a trendsetter. I will work hard to get there and bring out what is most expected out of me.”

Chaitanya’s debut film Josh was failure and so was his brother Akhil’s maiden film as a hero. Now that Akhil awaits the release of his second film Hello, did he take any inputs from Chaitanya about how to handle the pressure? The Thadaka actor reveals, “Mistakes do happen in and it’s quite normal to face such situations at a very young age. We should learn from our mistakes and move on.”

He can’t contain his excitement about Akhil's next film, and adds, “I feel Akhil perfectly fits the bill as a lover boy and it’s always exciting to see him in films like Hello. The icing on the cake is Vikram Kumar, known for his quirky romantic entertainers, directing it. I’m really looking forward to Hello’s release. I will watch it on the release day for the theatre experience.”

As for his upcoming projects, Chay shares, “About 40 per cent of Savyasaaachi has been wrapped up and I will be starting my next film with Maruthi in January. After that, I have also committed to doing a film with Vikram Kumar, which will start rolling in mid 2018.”
