Piaa Bajpai, who was last seen in Lakshmy Ramakrishnan's directorial Nerungi Vaa Muthamidathe (2014), is back with Abhiyum Annuvum, directed by cinematographer BR Vijayalakshmi. The project, starring Tovino Thomas in the lead, is titled Abhiyude Kadha Anuvinteyum in Malayalam. The actress says, "It's an intense love story and I play a bubbly girl. The film’s about what happens after Tovino and I fall in love and get married.” The team has shot extensively in Chennai and Kochi. “All I can say for now is that I will have a different onscreen persona. We will be releasing the film next month."

Piaa is all praise for her director. "Viji ma'am is quite energetic, and has amazing command of her craft." The actress goes on to say that the cinematographer-director is liked by everyone on the sets. "I keep asking her to adopt me because she has pampered me so much," she laughs. The character she plays in the film, Anu, is a young organic farmer raised by a single mother (played by Rohini).

The Ko actress has also been busy in Hindi with films like Mirza Juuliet. "I wasn't happy with the roles I was getting in Tamil, and so, I began to concentrate on other languages. Also, I don’t speak Tamil. So for me to accept a project here, it needs to be really good," she says.

But Piaa wants to do a film with Ajith again. "When I did Aegan, I didn't know who Ajith was. It was only after I did the film that I got to know he's a big star."
