I'm getting better roles in Malayalam: Ineya

Ineya, who rose to fame with Vaagai Sooda Vaa, says she got tired of waiting for good scripts. Some of her recent releases in Tamil including Thiraikku Varaadha Kadhai and Vaigai Express weren’t successful; so she's decided to concentrate on Malayalam films. “I am a part of Appa’s Malayalam remake, where I'll be seen as Jayaram sir’s wife. He’s playing the role essayed by Samuthirakani in the original, besides directing the film. Honestly, I feel I am getting better roles there,” she says.

But that doesn’t stop Ineya from doing Tamil films. “Sathura Adi 3500, a Stephen directorial, is releasing today and it’s based on a real-life incident that happened in Chennai. Actor Rahman is also a part of the film. It’s not a run-of-the-mill horror film; it has a spine-chilling narration. The film also touches on the existence of ghosts, travel of our soul,” she says.

Since the actress didn't turn up for the audio launch recently, Bhagyaraj had said, "it's a loss only for her and not the crew." Ask her about that, and she clarifies, "I couldn't come because I wasn't feeling well. I had an ankle sprain followed by food poisoning. But, I am not pissed off at Bhagyaraj sir for having made such a statement because he didn't know the truth. I am sure the team missed conveying it to him. I respect him for his experience."

3500 Sathura Adi was shot extensively in Bengaluru, Chalakudy, ECR and other interior parts of Chennai. The film features Kovai Sarala, MS Bhaskar and Manobala, among others.

Ineya is also awaiting the release of the Bharath-starrer Pottu that has Namita, Srushti Dange and Manisha Yadav in important roles.
