Cirkus trailer out; Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty promise mad fun

The film is set for a grand Christmas release on December 23

The trailer of Rohit Shetty's upcomig film Cirkus dropped on Friday. Starring Ranveer Singh in the lead, it is a comedy entertainer set in the backdrop of a circus in Ooty. It is officially adapted from the 1982 film Angoor, which was based on Shakespeare's play The Comedy of Errors.

The film, set in the 60s, has Ranveer Singh playing the role of a circus performer. He is introduced as the 'electric man' as he seems to have a condition of generating current. Rohit Shetty has created a mad world with a host of quirky characters. Ranveer and Varun Sharma seem to be essaying double roles. Jacqueline Fernandez and Pooja Hegde are the female leads. The ensemble cast includes Sanjay Mishra, Johnny Lever, Ashwini Kalsekar, and Mukesh Tiwari, among others. Deepika Padukone is also seen in a special dance number. Towards the end of the teaser, five boys are seen standing in front of an orphanage. From their names, we learn that they are the younger versions of the lead characters from Rohit Shetty's Golmaal franchise. It is a clear indication that Cirkus is also set in the same universe.

Cirkus is set for a grand Christmas release on December 23. Ranveer, who was last seen in Jayeshbhai Jordaar, also has Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani coming up. The film, also starring Alia Bhatt, is set to release on April 28, 2023.
