Mohanlal's upcoming film Empuraan, which is the sequel to the 2019 film Lucifer, has been the centre of attention ever since its announcement. The film's first schedule was completed last month, and the makers released its first look poster on the occasion of Diwali. The latest update is that the film's crew has started constructing a new set for the project, and the makers announced this news on their social media handles on Wednesday.
Prithviraj Sukumaran is directing the film, with a script by Murali Gopy. Kollywood's leading banner Lyca Productions is making their Malayalam debut with this film, as they back it in association with Aashirvad Cinemas.
Empuraan's shooting commenced last month in Ladakh. Reportedly, a major chunk of the film will be shot in foreign countries. Further details about the cast and crew are yet to be revealed. However, it is believed that actors like Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran and Saniya Iyappan are reprising their roles from Lucifer.
Empuraan's technical crew is almost the same from Lucifer, including cinematographer Sujith Vaassudev, composer Deepak Dev, art director Mohandas, and action choreographer Stunt Silva.
Empuraan is planned to be multilingual, with release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada.
