'Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey is not a copy of a French film'

Allegations were rife among netizens that Vipin Das's directorial venture Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey, starring Darshana Rajendran and Basil Joseph in lead roles, was a copy of the French film  Kung Fu Zohra. On Sunday, the director took to his social media accounts and penned a note with proof providing his justification against the plagiarism allegations. 

The filmmaker noted that the script of Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey was locked long back in December 2020, and also shared a screenshot of the mail he sent back in 2020. He also pointed out that similarities in both film's fight scenes follow the style of old Jackie Chan and Jet Li films. The director also said that the team would legally confront any other propaganda. 

Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey is a comedy-drama that satirises the conflicts between a newlywed couple and the hardships faced by a woman in an abusive marriage. 

Apart from Darshana Rajendran and Basil Joseph in lead roles,  Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey also features Anand Manmadhan, Kudassanad Kanakam, Aju Varghese, Azeez Nedumangad, Sudheer Paravoor, Manju Pillai, and Noby Marcos in pivotal roles.
