Prithviraj Sukumaran joins Vilayath Buddha shoot

Vilayath Buddha is the big-screen adaptation of GR Indugopan's novel of the same name

Prithiviraj Sukumaran joined the sets of Vilayath Buddha on Saturday. The makers released the video of the actor entering the shooting location and being greeted by the crew.

Vilayath Buddha went on floors on October 19. The film, which was supposed to be helmed by late filmmaker Sachy, is now directed by debutant Jayan Nambiar, who assisted Prithviraj in Lucifer. Vilayath Buddha is the big-screen adaptation of GR Indugopan's novel of the same name. Indugopan and Rajesh Pinnadan are scripting the film. It revolves around two characters — an old named Bhaskaran Master and his protege, a smuggler named Double Mohanan. The film is reportedly about a conflict between two men trying to claim ownership of a sandalwood tree planted by the former. While Kottayam Ramesh plays the role of Bhaskaran Master, Prithviraj plays his Protege. Anu Mohan, Thottappan-fame Priyamvada Krishnan, and Shammy Thilakan are also part of the cast.

The film's cinematography is handled by Arvind Kashyap, who rose to fame with two Kannada films, 777 Charlie and the recently released Kantara. Vilayath Buddha's technical crew also includes music composer Jakes Bejoy, and editor Sreejith Sarang. The film is produced by Sandip Senan under the Urvasi Theatres banner. Meanwhile, Prithviraj has a slew of projects including Kaapa, Aadujeevitham, Khalifa, Kaaliyan and Gold.
