Mahesh Narayanan, Kunchacko Boban's film Ariyippu to compete at Locarno Film Festival

Director-editor Mahesh Narayanan's next feature Ariyippu, starring Kunchacko Boban and Divyaprabha in the leads, has been picked up for the international competition section of the 75th Locarno Film Festival that commences on August 3 this year. The selection of a Malayalam film is the first in the festival's history.

Sharing the poster on his social media handles, Kunchacko Boban called it a proud moment and added that it is a "personal honour" for him and a tribute to his grandfather and father. Aside from Kunchacko Boban and Divyaprabha, Ariyippu also stars Loveleen Mishra, Kannan Arunachalam, Danish Hussain, and Faisal Malik.

Ariyippu has a script by Mahesh Narayanan, who is co-producing with Kunchacko Boban and Shebin Backer. Notably, Shebin had worked with the duo in Take Off.

Ariyippu also sees Mahesh reuniting with cinematographer Sanu John Varghese, who had lensed Take Off and Malik. Mahesh and Rahul Radhakrishnan edited the film, with Sushin Shyam providing the original score.
