The actor who impressed many with his antagonist turn, Shibu, in Minnal Murali, has revealed that he will be part of Mohanlal's directorial debut, Barroz, during an interaction with Indiaglitz. Guru Somasundaram, who made his debut in Thiagarajan Kumararaja's Aaranya Kaandam and has made notable appearances in the Tamil films like Jigarthanda and Joker, shared that Mohanlal had contacted him a week before the release of Minnal Murali.

Barroz resumed filming on Sunday after a brief halt following the limitations imposed by the second wave of the pandemic in Kerala. Though Mohanlal had shot a few portions earlier, the actor decided to reshoot everything considering the physical changes of some of the actors.

As per reports, Prithviraj, who was part of the initial schedule, will not be part of the new one either, as he is gearing up to shoot for the remaining portions of director Blessy's Aadujeevitham soon.

A big-budget 3D fantasy based on a concept by My Dear Kuttichathan-fame Jijo Punnoose, Barroz has Santhosh Sivan as the director of photography. Antony Perumbavoor is bankrolling it under the Aashirvad Cinemas banner.
