This day, October 29, marks three years since the tragic loss of Puneeth Rajkumar, a cherished icon in Kannada cinema. Puneeth passed away unexpectedly on this day in 2021. His departure left a void in the industry and in the hearts of countless fans across India and the world.

To honor his memory, a pooja was held at Puneeth's Samadhi at Kanteerava Studio. Family members, including Raghavendra Rajkumar and Puneeth's wife, Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, along with their youngest daughter, were present to pay their respects.

Later, Ashwini shared her heartfelt thoughts on social media, reflecting on the enduring spirit of Puneeth, affectionately known as ‘Appu’. She wrote, “Appu lives on in our memories and actions, guiding us every day and forever residing in our hearts.”

Fans gathered at the beautifully adorned Samadhi, bringing flowers and heartfelt tributes. Many expressed their deep sorrow, noting how palpable the absence of Puneeth Rajkumar still feels after three years. A community lunch was organized for attendees, providing an opportunity for fans to reminisce about and celebrate his enduring legacy together.

Puneeth's sudden passing at just 46 shocked the nation. The day before his death, he had celebrated musician Gurukiran's birthday and returned home. The actor suffered a heart attack, and despite efforts to revive him, he could not be saved, leaving everyone in disbelief.

Puneeth Rajkumar, the son of legendary actor Dr Rajkumar, began his career as a child artist and won a National Award. He appeared in over 32 films, with his last commercial film being James, followed by Gandhada Gudi, a docudrama directed by Amoghavarsha JS that released one year after his passing on October 26, 2022.
