Ranjan Hassan’s The Checkmate to hit the screens this week

Bharateesha Vasishta and Santosh Chippadi's upcoming film, The Checkmate, is set to hit the screens on October 7.

The film with elements of comedy, suspense, thriller, and horror revolves around a chess game. "It is about four friends, who are out to celebrate a breakup, but are unwittingly entrapped in a game of chess with each other. Since quitting is not an option, they have to survive," explains lead actor Ranjan Hassan (Paru I Love You, and Abhaya Hasta), who is also backing the film under his Jagath Jyothi Movie Makers banner. 

With music by Shashank Sheshagiri and cinematography by Sathish Rajendran, The Checkmate also stars Preethu Pooja, Vijay Chendur, Ninasam Ashwath, Cockroach Sudhi, Sardar Sathya, Pradeep Poojari, Vishwa Vijeth, Rajashekara, Chiller Manja, and Huli Karthik.
