Pakistan's The Legend of Maula Jatt beats RRR in the UK, makers say

The makers of the  Pakistani Punjabi action film, The Legend of Maula Jatt, have stated that the film has surpassed the lifetime collections of SS Rajamouli's epic actioner, RRR, in the United Kingdom. The news was shared by the official Instagram handle of the film on October 30. 

"Another day, another achievement! The Legend of Maula Jatt beats the highest-grossing Indian movie of 2022, RRR’s lifetime business in just 17 days in UK!"

The Legend of Maula Jatt, directed by Bilal Lashari, features Fawad Khan as the titular character and Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malik, and Mahira Khan in other prominent roles. The Punjabi language film is a remake of Yunus Malik's 1979 film of the same name and tells the story of Maula Jatt, who locks horns with Noori Natt, the powerful leader of a brutal clan.

The Legend of Maula Jatt has reportedly surpassed the collections of Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 and emerged as the highest-grossing Pakistani film of all time. The film made reportedly made 150 crores worldwide.

On the other hand, RRR is the news for becoming the highest-grossing Indian film in its first week in Japan.
