Ajay Devgn released the first teaser of his upcoming film Drishyam 2 on Thursday. The film also stars Tabu and Shriya Saran.

The video gives a recap of the events of the first film, including the murder and Ajay’s character Vijay Salgaonkar’s efforts to protect his family. In the final moments of the video Tabu’s voice echoes, “A culprit can only be caught through confession if there is no evidence to find them at fault.”Then we see Ajay, a bit older and bearded, facing a video camera and saying “I am Vijay Salgaonkar and this is my confession”.

Drishyam, which was released in 2015, was a remake of the Malayalam original of the same name starring Mohanlal. The sequel is also a remake of 2021’s Malayalam film Drishyam 2.

The narrative focused on a seemingly simple middle-class family of Vijay, who goes to extreme lengths for his family after it is alleged that they have kidnapped and killed a senior police officer’s (Tabu) son.

Drishyam 2 is helmed by Abhishek Pathak and will be released on November 18. Besides the film, Ajay also has Thank God, Maidaan and Bholaa in the pipeline. He was last seen in Runway 34, which he had also directed.
