Thank God Diwali trailer: Ajay Devgn’s Chitragupt has some life lessons for Sidharth Malhotra

A new ‘Diwali’ trailer of Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra’s upcoming comedy Thank God was released today. In the film, Ajay plays Chitragupt, the mythological deity who keeps the account of the good and bad deeds of humans. Sidharth plays Aayan, who has to participate in a game show with Chitragupt, as his life hangs in the balance.

The film is directed by Indra Kumar.

The special trailer opens with Ajay, in a mythological attire, donned with jewels and a crown. As Sidharth looks at him, confused, he changes to a modern avatar for his better understanding. Ajay then tells Sidharth that as he was not a very good human and the pot of his bad deeds is almost full, Sidharth will have to play a game show with him to go back to life. He also tells Sidharth jokingly that even Amitabh Bachchan played this game with him and then went back to life and came up with the idea of KBC. The trailer ends with Ajay trying to tell Sidharth a joke to which he says, “How many times will I laugh at the same joke?” Ajay then replies, “Then why do you worry about the same worries?”

The film also stars Rakul Preet Singh as Sidharth’s wife Ruhi. A highlight of the film is the Hindi version of the popular Sinhala song “Manike Mage Hithe”. The Hindi version titled “Manike” features Nora Fatehi.

Thank God, is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Ashok Thakeria, Sunir Kheterpal, Deepak Mukut, Anand Pandit, and Markand Adhikari and co-produced by Yash Shah.

The film will be released on October 25.
