Bholaa teaser out: Ajay Devgn is a convict separated from his daughter

The teaser of Ajay Devgn's Bholaa is out. The film, a Hindi remake of Kaithi (2019), is directed by and stars Ajay.

The teaser opens with a girl in an orphanage, Jyoti, being told to get to bed early, since 'someone' is coming to visit her the next day. She follows instructions but remains confused who the mysterious visitor might be. It's implied she doesn't remember her parents or other relatives.

After that, the camera swoops through a high-facility jail. We see a man, dressed in prison clothes, reading the Bhagavad Gita. A voiceover steps up the intrigue as Bholaa - a dreaded criminal played by Ajay - walks in silhouette. After a splashy title reveal, the teaser ends with a glimpse of an action scene, as Bholaa leaps off his motorcycle and attacks an oncoming SUV with a trident.

Kaithi, which starred Karthi and was directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj (Vikram), was about an inmate who helps the cops when they are attacked by a gang of smugglers. The cops then help him reunite with his daughter.

Bholaa, which also features Tabu in a key role, is Ajay’s fourth project as director. He has previously helmed U Me Aur Hum which featured himself and Kajol in the lead. Next was the 2016 actioner Shivaay. His third directorial released earlier this year which featured him and Amitabh Bachchan in a pivotal role, called Runway 34. Ajay recently appeared in Drishyam 2 which is scoring at the box-office.
