Actor Kajol reunited with her first co-star, Kamal Sadannah, after 30 years on the sets of Revathy's Salaam Venky. Kajol and Kamal Sadannah had made their Bollywood debuts together in Bekhudi, released in 1992.
The makers released a video of Kamal paying a surprise visit to Kajol. The actor looks genuinely astonished and ends up hugging him dearly. Kamal is part of the cast of Salaam Venky. Director Revathy kept his casting a mystery from Kajol, surprising her on the set of the film.
The trailer of Salaam Venky was recently released. The film centres on the relationship between a single mother and a terminally-ill boy, played by Vishal Jethwa. Rajeev Khandelwal, Prakash Raj and Rahul Bose are also featured in the cast. The trailer revealed that Aamir Khan makes an appearance in a key role in the film.
Salaam Venky is set to release theatrically on December 9.
Revathy had previously directed the Hindi films Mitr, My Friend (2002), Phir Milenge (2004), and a segment in the anthology Mumbai Cutting (2008).
