The trailer of Ek Villain Returns, the sequel to the 2014 film Ek Villain starring Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh, dropped in on Thursday. The film has an ensemble cast of John Abraham, Disha Patani, Arjun Kapoor and Tara Sutaria. Ek Villain Returns is directed by Mohit Suri and jointly produced by T-Series and Balaji Telefilms.

The trailer starts with JD Chakravarthy informing that after eight years of the events of Ek Villain, another serial killer is on the loose, and this time he is hunting women with one-sided lovers. John Abraham and Arjun Kapoor seem to be adversaries. The trailer keeps under wraps as to who is the real villain of the film. Even Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria are shown having an evil streak. The tune of 'Teri Galliyan' from the previous film keeps looming over the trailer’s visuals.

Talking about the film, Mohit said, “The film has been a labour of love for all of us every single person working both, behind and in front of the scenes has given it their all to bring back the best of the action thriller universe.”

John spoke about choosing the film and why it felt like homecoming to work with Mohit. “When I read the script of Ek Villain Returns, I knew it was what I wanted to do because it was like a homecoming for me. My Bollywood debut Jism was with Mohit as an assistant director. He has come a long way and it's great to see him grow.”

The film will be released in theatres on July 29.
