A new trailer of Shahid Kapoor-starrer Jersey was released today. Written and directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, the film is a remake of his 2019 Telugu film starring Nani. The Hindi-language sports drama was expected to release in December last year but was delayed due to the rise in COVID-19 cases. It is now releasing on April 14 in theatres.

In the new trailer, Shahid's Arjun is gunning hard for a comeback. His wife, played by Mrunal Thakur, dismissively tells him that he has lost his chance. The selectors and coaches seem to agree, pointing out that 36 is no age to play professional cricket. However, it's his son, wide-eyed Kittu, who believes in him, and that's all that counts. "He's the only one who never judged me," Arjun says, finding purpose and resolution in his son's faith.

Jersey also has Pankaj Kapur, Shahid's own father, in the role of a coach. The film is produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill, Dil Raju, and Suryadevara Naga Vamsi.
