Anurag Kashyap's Kenndey gets a 7-minute standing ovation at Cannes

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap's recent directorial venture Kennedy was screened at the 76th Cannes Film Festival under the Midnight Screenings category. The film received a 7-minute standing ovation at The Grand Lumiere Theatre. 

Kennedy follows the story of an insomniac cop who dwells in different circumstances while looking for redemption. Kashyap was joined at the festival by his friend and frequent collaborator Vikramaditya Motwane and his actors Rahul Bhatt and Sunny Leone. 
 
Anurag is a familiar face at Cannes. The filmmaker earlier showcased his films at the festival, including Raman Raghav 2.0, Ugly, Bombay Talkies and the two-part gangster drama Gangs of Wasseypur. 

Produced by Zee Studios and Ranjan Singh, and Kabir Ahuja of Good Bad Films, Kennedy has music composed by Ashish Narula with Aamir Aziz and Boyblanck.
