Chatrapathi trailer promises an emotional action drama

The makers of Chatrapathi, the upcoming film starring Sreenivas Bellamkonda, released the trailer on Tuesday. VV Vinayak, director of films like Lakshmi (2006), Adhurs (2010) and Khaidi No 150 (2017), is the director of the Hindi adaptation of Chatrapathi. The film will hit the theatres on May 12.

The trailer begins with a glimpse of 1985 Pakistan. The story revolves around Sreenivas's character, who is in search of his mother and a younger brother who migrates to India from Pakistan after riots in the neighbouring country. He goes against powerful people to fight for the rights of his people. At the end of the trailer, the mother shoots him with a gun. Meanwhile, Nushrratt plays the female lead.

Chatrapathi also stars Sahil Vaid, Amit Nair, Rajendra Gupta, Shivam Patil, Swapnil, Ashish Singh, Mohammed Monajir, Vedika and Jason in supporting roles. The film's core technical crew comprises cinematographer Nizar Ali Shafi, music composer Tanishk Bagchi and production designer Sunil Babu.

It may be noted that Chatrapathi marks Sreenivas' Hindi debut. The film is a remake of Rajamouli’s blockbuster film of the same title.
